A place where kids have fun, make friends, and learn how much God loves them.
Our Kids Ministry is designed to help children know Jesus, grow in their faith, and feel deeply loved in a safe and engaging environment created just for them.

From our youngest babies to our elementary students, our heart is that every child leaves knowing God loves them and they belong here.

Plan Your First Visit

We know visiting a new church with kids can feel like a big step, and we want to make it as easy as possible.

When you arrive, our Kids Check-In team will help you quickly and easily register your child. You and your child will receive matching security tags to ensure a safe and smooth pickup after service.

Our  volunteers will help your child get settled and make sure they feel comfortable and welcomed.

We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early on your first visit so we can help you get checked in and settled before service begins.

Nursery

(Birth–2 Years)

Our nursery provides a loving, calm environment where our youngest children are taught about Jesus using pictures and a short bible story while parents attend service. Our team focuses on meeting each child’s needs and helping them feel safe and comfortable.

Preschool

(3–5 Years)

Preschoolers at Greater Lansing First experience Bible stories through interactive teaching, songs, crafts, and play that help them begin to understand God’s love in ways they can grasp. 

Kids Church

(Kindergarten–5th Grade)

Elementary students at Greater Lansing First experience energetic worship, engaging Bible lessons, games, and small groups where they can ask questions, pray for one another and learn how to apply God’s Word to their lives. 

Safety Matters to Us

Your child’s safety is extremely important to us.
We take intentional steps to create a secure environment for every child, including:

Secure check-in system with matching parent/child tags 

Background checks for all volunteers 

Two trained adults present in every classroom 

Clear safety and supervision policies 

We want parents to feel confident that their children are being cared for, protected, and valued.
What if my child needs me during service?
If your child needs you for any reason, our team will contact you using the information you provide during check-in. Nursery and Preschool classrooms provide a pager at check-in, which will be used to page you if necessary.
What if my child is nervous or doesn’t want me to leave?
That’s completely normal. Our leaders are experienced in helping kids feel comfortable and welcomed. You’re welcome to stay for a few minutes while your child gets settled. 
Can my child stay with me during service instead?
Absolutely. While we’d love for your child to experience GL Kids Ministry, families are always welcome to keep their children with them in the main service. 
Where do I pick up my child after service?
Children are picked up in their classrooms using the matching security tag you received during check-in. 
What if someone else needs to pick up my child?
For safety reasons, the person picking up your child must have the matching security tag. 
What if my child wants to be baptized?
We love celebrating when kids choose to follow Jesus! If your child has questions about baptism, we would be happy to talk with you and walk through that next step together. 
What if my child has allergies or special needs?
Please let our check-in team know. We want to work with you to make sure your child is safe, comfortable, and included in every activity.
